Traditional Order of Panch Kedar Yatra:
  1. Kedarnath — The most important (16 km trek)
  2. Tungnath — The highest (4 km trek)
  3. Rudranath — Most remote (20 km trek)
  4. Madhyamaheshwar — The middle (15 km trek)
  5. Kalpeshwar — The easiest (road accessible, open year-round)

Why this order?

  • Kedarnath is the most famous and should be done first
  • Tungnath is a short trek — good after Kedarnath
  • Rudranath and Madhyamaheshwar are most challenging — done when you're fit
  • Kalpeshwar is easiest — saved for the end as a relief
Pro Tip: Some pilgrims do the reverse order (Kalpeshwar first, Kedarnath last) for a progressive spiritual journey. However, the traditional order above is more common and practical.

  • Madhyamaheshwar: Steep, beautiful forests, guide recommended
